THE World Day of prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement which is observed every year on the 1st Friday in March. In 2019 the host country was Slovenia and the theme was ‘Come Everything is ready’.
In 2020 this was hosted by Zimbabwe and the theme was ‘Rise! Take your bed and walk’. And we at Goodwills observed the day with action plays, choruses and intercessory prayers for the country. The students gave their voluntary contribution as offertory to be sent for the needy people in Zimbabwe.
In 2021 the World Day of Prayer was held virtually organized by the women of the Republic of Vanuatu and the Theme was ‘Build on a strong foundation’ and was celebrated locally in 140 countries. The inter church Women’s Fellowship of Bengaluru in collaboration with W.D.P Vanuatu created a Video of the Worship Service Programme to be enjoyed by everyone.
The staff at Goodwill Girls’ High School and Composite P U College gave a call to worship by presenting a number entitled ‘It is time to get together as a nation and family to build up Vanuatu with love and unity’ which was appreciated by one and all.
