Who We Are
Goodwill Girls' High School & Composite Pre-University College is an English-medium institution for girls, located in Frazer Town in the heart of the old Bangalore Cantonment. The school has been on the same Promenade Road campus since 1888, and our roots in girls' education in Bengaluru reach back to 1855.
We are part of the network of schools managed by the CSI Karnataka Central Diocese (Church of South India), and we draw students from across Frazer Town, Cox Town, Pottery Town, Pulikeshi Nagar, and beyond. Our identity is shaped by three convictions: every girl deserves access to a strong, structured education; character and academic ability grow together; and an institution is healthiest when it stays close to the community it serves.
Our Vision
To be a school where every girl — regardless of background — leaves equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and conscience to lead a meaningful life and contribute to her community.
Our Mission
To deliver a values-led, academically strong, and individually attentive education that prepares girls for higher studies, the world of work, and life beyond — by holding to high standards, by knowing each student, and by remaining rooted in the heritage that founded us.
Our Motto
"Arise, Learn, Serve and Be Steadfast" — three convictions that have guided generations of Goodwill girls: ambition, the lifelong practice of learning, and the responsibility every educated young woman carries to lift others as she rises.
Our Core Values
- Inclusion — the school was founded to teach girls of every community; that ethos is still at the centre of who we are.
- Discipline — in study habits, in conduct, and in respect for one another.
- Excellence — a quiet, consistent commitment to doing schoolwork well.
- Service — leadership measured not by status, but by what one gives back.
- Faith and conscience — a Christian foundation, expressed in the dignity with which we treat every student.
